With the song ”Magneto And Titanium Man” as inspiration, the second version of the album follows the theme of comic books and displays a thrilling heist between police and three Marvel villans. The bank robbery takes place on earth but soon shoots off into space with Venus and Mars in sight for an escape. Colorful illustrations, well known characters and opportunities for the children to continue the story themselves, creates immense engagement and interest.
Venus And Mars by Wings - Redesign part 2
The aim and purpose of this project is to explore how social and cultural context affect and impact visual communication, specifically in the form of vinyl records and its album art. Wings’ 1975 album Venus And Mars is the chosen vehicle to explore and investigate how its album art would look like if it was released today with children aged 5-12 as its target audience. The redesigned album artwork must adapt to today’s context and trends, but still resemble the same aura as the original cover to fit Wings’ general identity.
